MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- A judge in St. Maarten has extended the detention for a 17-year-old murder suspect in the Caribbean nation.

The suspect - identified only as JCM - is accused of playing a role in the stabbing deaths of Michael and Thelma King, of Mount Pleasant. The couple was found dead last month inside their beachside condominium.

The teen, who has not been formally charged, appeared in court Thursday. A news release from the prosecutor's office in St. Maarten said JCM will next go before a judge Oct. 10.

A second man, Meyshane Johnson, was arrested first and has reportedly admitted to a role in the Kings' deaths. He also has not been formally charged but his detention was extended as well.

Johnson appeared in court Wednesday.
