LITTLE RIVER, S.C. (WCIV) -- Coast Guard crews responded Thursday to a fire on a boat carrying 40 people off Little River.

Coast Guard officials said crews from Station Georgetown and Station Oak Island were called to the scene just before 5:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and officials said the fire was out before crews arrived on the scene.

Thirty-eight adults were aboard the boat, along with two children.

The 40-foot vessel is operating on one engine and is being escorted back to its home port of Calabash, N.C., the Coast Guard said in a news release.
