MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV/AP) - The number of people arrested in connection with the murder of a Mount Pleasant couple is now up to three. Monday, the third most recently arrested suspect is due in court.

The 20-year-old, identified only by the initials of J.J.W, was arrested on the island of Saint Thomas on Wednesday. Public Prosecutor Hans Mos said Friday that the suspect had flown out of the Dutch Caribbean territory last week to the U.S. Virgin Islands. He said the suspect was extradited to St. Maarten with the help of U.S. authorities.

Officials with the prosecutor's office said Monday afternoon J.J.W. will appear again in court Oct. 15. Then, a judge will decide whether how long he should be held in jail.

"The suspect is cooperating with the police and has made a statement," officials said in a prepared statement.

Police say they received information that J.J.W. was involved in the murder of Michael and Thelma King and the robbery at the Happy Star restaurant on Sept. 19.

Authorities previously arrested a Jamaican security guard and a 17-year-old in the slaying of Michael and Thelma King.

Friends say that the Kings were part-time residents of St. Maarten and that Michael King was planning to start a rum business there.
