MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) – Dr. Del Schutte from East Cooper Medical Center was in the studio Tuesday for our East Cooper Medical Center Ask the Experts segment.
The theme this month was arthritis and joint replacement.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Nearly one in two people may develop symptomatic knee osteoarthritis by age 85; two in three people who are obese may develop symptomatic osteoarthritis knee in their lifetime; and nearly a quarter of the population may develop painful hip arthritis in their lifetime.
Arthritis is a main cause for joint replacement surgery.
