Downtown gas leak shuts down intersection Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - A gas leak on Saturday evacuated apartments at Flood and Allway streets in downtown Charleston.

Charleston Police say repairs were made and the scene was cleared by 7 p.m. Saturday night.

According to police, a car ran into a gas meter near that intersection, causing the leak.  Traffic was diverted around the intersection while SCE&G made the repairs.
