MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - The third suspect arrested in the murder of Michael and Thelma King is in court Monday.
The suspect, identified as J.J.W., initially appeared in court on October 8 before the judge of instruction.
The judge ruled that both the arrest and the prolongation of the custody were lawful. That ruling kept J.J.W. in custody until his court appearance.
Police are still analyzing the information gathered in the course of the investigation thus far, and are verifying the statements made by the three suspects.
According to St. Maarten's solicitor general Taco Stein, J.J.W. was remanded to pre-trial detention for a period of eight days by the judge of instruction.
Michael and Thelma King of Mount Pleasant were murdered in Saint Maarten on September 19.
