Scott Douglas Marriott (provided)MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Summerville man was arrested Wednesday after child pornography was found on his computer, officials said.
Scott D. Marriott, 36, is charged with five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Each charge could yield up to 10 years in prison, a spokesman for South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said.
According to a news release from Wilson's office, an deputy working under cover for the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office downloaded five video files from Marriott's computer via a file-sharing service in late September. A search warrant was served at Marriott's home Oct. 10, and four computers and other electronic equipment was seized.
"A forensic preview of that computer equipment revealed numerous files with videos depicting children as young as infants engaged in sexual activity with adults," the news release said.
The case will be prosecuted by Wilson's office.
