CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Citadel officials have confirmed that Senior Associate Athletic Director Paul Plunkett has retired. This comes after he was suspended without pay following an arrest for soliciting a prostitute.

According to a police report from the North Charleston police, Plunkett was arrested by the NCPD SPEED team during a prostitution enforcement operation on Remount Road and Dobson Drive Sept. 5.

The report says Plunkett pulled up in his Blue Toyota and asked an undercover cop if she needed a ride. She said yes and told him to meet her on Leiderman Street. The report says she asked him "Do you just want some quick head" in the car and he said he did. The report also says she asked him how much he wanted to spend and he told her 30 dollars.

That's when other officers stopped Plunkett and arrested him for solicitation for prostitution.

According to North Charleston court records, Plunkett pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one charge of solicitation for prostitution.

Plunkett was listed on the Citadel's website as a "member of the Class of 1973" and has been part of their athletics program for four years. Officials then confirmed that Plunkett was "suspended without pay pending a review through the college's employee discipline policy."

After ABC News 4 noticed his bio had been removed from the site, officials confirmed that Plunkett "retired" effective Oct. 10.
