In order to have a 2008 and 2009 income tax return prepared, Jones submitted to her tax preparer fraudulent W2 forms. Jones also reported fraudulent W2 wages and withholding information on a 2011 income tax return which she filed electronically.

If convicted of the five charges, Jones could face fines up to the discretion of the court and/or face up to 35 years in prison. Jones, a resident of Alabama Drive in North Charleston, has a state tax liability of $1,893 for the 2008, 2009 and 2011 tax years.

This is the latest arrest by the SC Department of Revenue in an ongoing tax fraud investigation in the Charleston area.
