Woman struck on Shem Creek Bridge dies from injuries

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman who was struck by a car at the intersection of Coleman Boulevard and Shem Creek Bridge around 12:30 a.m. Sunday has died, according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office.

Caroline Walters, 32, died Wednesday morning from traumatic brain injuries sustained in the accident.

She was pronounced dead at 4:29 a.m. at MUSC.

According to police, witnesses reported seeing a red Jeep SUV, going through the intersection, strike Walters. The Jeep had a green light. The Jeep did stop at the scene, according to Mount Pleasant police.

The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
