Identity of body found on Folly Beach released

FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Coroner's Office has identified the body found last weekend on Folly Beach.

He is identified as 33-year-old William Altman of Moncks Corner. 

The cause of death is still pending.

According to police, a man and his wife were walking on Folly Beach when they saw a man they believed to be intoxicated "laying in an uncomfortable position next to a log behind 605 E. Arctic."

The couple tried to wake the man up, according to a report from the Folly Beach Police Department.

Investigators said the man was blue and had a puddle of red, dried fluid beneath his nose and mouth.

No foul play is suspected.
