Pet doc with brain tumor to test herself in Alcatraz

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – A North Charleston veterinarian is getting ready to compete in a triathlon to raise money for her cancer research.
She's doing it all while battling a brain tumor.
Calley Hille opened Lowcountry Pet Wellness 12 years ago as an affordable option for pet owners. However, lately Hille has become quite an athlete as she checks items off her bucket list.
Her biggest challenge, the Escape From Alcatraz triathlon, is in March.
"I came across LiveStrong and they were offering some of the positions to the Escape From Alcatraz triathlon, which is my dream triathlon," Hille said. "And it's kind of funny because it started as a bucket list. And they call that one the ‘bucket list triathlon.'"
Hille said she submitted an essay about her story and was immediately accepted to compete.
She plans to raise $10,000 for cancer research. She said if she can compete in the triathlon, she thinks she can overcome anything.
