
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Southern Conference released on Thursday its preseason men's basketball poll, showing the conference's coaches picked Davidson and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to lead the north and south divisions.
Davidson's De'Mon Brooks was also named the SoCon Player of the Year.
The College of Charleston was selected to finish second in the South Division, picking up 54 votes to Davidson's 65.
CofC's Andrew Lawrence and Trent Wiedeman were selected to the preseason all-conference team. The Citadel's Mike Groselle was also named to the team.
The coaches' poll selected the Bulldogs to finish last in the South Division.
