SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - Deputies have released new information on a shooting Friday night that sent a Dollar General employee to the hospital.

Berkeley County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Dollar General on North Main Street in Summerville where an employee was sitting on the floor in front of the cash register.

Deputies say the employee was approached by a man with his face covered demanding money.  When she turned her back to the suspect, she was shot from behind, according to deputies.

Surveillance video showed the man enter the store, run in the direction of the safe under the front counter, then run back to the front door.

Deputies say it was at that point he fired what appeared to be three rounds of gunfire at the employee.

No suspect has been arrested at this time.

ABC News 4 will have more on this story as it develops.
