NCPD: Victim shot in groin, robbed while trying to help suspect

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police responded to a shooting at a home on Carlton Street early Tuesday morning.

According to a spokesman with the CPD, police met up with a victim who told them an unknown black male knocked on the door and told the victim that someone was trying to rob him. The victim says he opened his door to help and the suspect pushed his way in, pulled out a gun, shot the victim in the groin and stole $50.

Police say the suspect fled the scene and the victim was taken to MUSC.

The suspect is described as a tall, skinny black male with light facial hair and wearing all black.
