WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) – A dozen counterfeit $100 bills were handed to a Walmart clerk in Walterboro early Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, four people identified only as three black men and one black woman paid for a computer, a surround sound system and a two-year warranty with the stack of fake bills.

The value of the computer, speakers and warranty was valued at $1,157.

The store did not realize at the time of purchase that the bills were fake, the report stated.

According to the report, the store's management refused to turn the fake money over to police, opting instead to take the matter up with the company's bank.
