Police: Two bodies found in Summerville home

Posted: Updated:

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- The bodies of two people were found Wednesday in a home in Summerville.

Few other details have been made available, but a spokesman for the Summerville Police Department confirmed the pair was found dead in a home on Lenwood Drive.

Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said the pair - a young man and a young woman - was found inside the home at 113 Lenwood Drive.

Nisbet said just before 9 p.m. he was attempting the contact the families of the victims.

He has identified the male victim as 31-year-old Eric Scott Yates. The cause of death is unknown but Nisbet says Yates was staying at a home that did not have electricity, but a generator. Nisbet said "neighbors where complaining, so apparently it was moved inside" and "this may be what caused the death of both people."

Nisbet identified the female victim as 31-year-old Kristina Marie Smith of North Charleston.

He said there were no signs of foul play.
