GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Goose Creek Police Department Criminal Investigations Division conducted a drug bust that led to search warrants and the seizure of items related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine at two different, unrelated locations.
The first location, Tammie Avenue, came to investigator's attention because of an investigation of a stolen tag. When officers arrived they found a "one pot" meth lab at the home.
Arrested were 25-year-old Ashley Elizabeth Crothers, 25-year-old Dustin Robert Lane, 26-year-old Sherman Blake Baskins, and 28-year-old Mary Karol Foster.
According to the report, Ashley Crothers told police she was allowing Dustin Lane and "Breezy" (aka Sherman Baskins) to manufacture Meth in her home and that she uses meth.
Crothers also told police that she and her husband, Andrew Beamesderfer, have been allowing Dustin Lane to stay there for a while and that a fire occurred about two weeks ago from a "cook" that Lane and Baskins were conducting.
Crothers and Lane were charged with manufacturing meth and disposing of meth waste. Baskins and Foster were charged with manufacturing meth.
Police say they anticipate bringing charges against Andrew Beamesderfer as well.
The second location, Camelot Drive, was an unoccupied residence raided on November 1. The GCPD Special Response and Tactics Team found evidence of a meth lab. Members of the Charleston DEA Task Force removed the lab items and a contract disposal company collected the material for safe disposal.
The resident, 34-year-old Johnny Hedges, was arrested a short distance away from the residence during a traffic stop. He's charged with manufacturing, manufacturing in the presence of a child, and disposal of meth making waste.
There's also a charge for the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Police say that during the search of the residence,
a firearm was found as well as evidence that children reside in
the home.
