BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was killed when a car ran off the road and hit a tree.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver of a 2002 Honda was on Short Cut Road in Berkeley County Sunday night.

Officials say the driver ran off the road and hit a tree. The driver, who has not been identified, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
