CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Voters who waited until after work to vote may find themselves waiting even longer.

Lines at the polls are averaging between a half hour and a two hour wait. Long lines out the door were reported at Goose Creek High School and Stiles Point Elementary on James Island.

Some voters said they were glad to see the large turnout.

"I know it's going to be like that everywhere," said Martha Jantzen. "And it's about time everybody stands up and votes for who they really believe in."

Some locations also reported short wait times. Many voters in Mount Pleasant tweeted their good luck at the polls, citing wait times of less than 10 minutes.
