WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Department of Justice is investigating several fliers found at Doschers grocery store in West Ashley.

The fliers aimed to keep Democrats from voting on Election Day.

"Due to an overwhelming voter turn out expected Tuesday Nov. 6...All Democrats will need to vote on Wednesday, November 7 between 7 AM and 7 PM," the flyers read.

Democratic Party officials took the intimidation very seriously.

"This isn't an urban myth. This is real. This is a real piece of paper and somebody went through the effort to try to deny another American the right to vote," said Richard Hricik, head of the Charleston County Democratic Party.

A Doschers employee originally reported the fliers, Hricik said.
