Dorchester school upgrades appear to move through, pool too close to call

Posted: Updated:

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) – In Dorchester County, where a computer problem prevented returns to be tallied for hours Tuesday night, races are slowly being updated late into the night.

In the Dorchester County Council District 6 race, Bill Hearn is leading Miriam Birdsong 76 to 24 percent with 31 percent of precincts reporting.

With 37 percent of precincts reporting, only 700 votes separate the top three vote getters for the District 2 school board. Barbara Crosby, Lisa Tupper and Sam Clark are the frontrunners in that race.

With 13 percent of precincts reporting, the school upgrades referendum looks like it may pass. However, the aquatic center referendum is tied at 50 percent.
