NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Veterans Day is Sunday, but North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey wanted to make sure Lowcountry veterans were honored early.
The mayor declared Saturday "North Charleston Pops Day."
Along with the proclamation came a donation of 500 tickets for veterans to the North Charleston Pops.
"We want to honor the veterans in the Lowcountry, because they've been such a part of the history in North Charleston," Summey said Wednesday. "We thought it would be the perfect way to kick off our brand new orchestra."
The orchestra is scheduled to play Saturday at the North Charleston Coliseum.
