MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- The basketball teams have arrived, eager to play in the first carrier classic in Charleston.

"There are so many people involved, there are riggers, people who run cranes, truck drivers, fork lift drivers," said Bill Anderson, spokesperson for Morale Entertainment, the group responsible for hosting the event on the U.S.S. Yorktown.

Anderson says everything from the seats to the court and the lighting was assembled in one week.

"It had all come from outside Patriots Point, but some of it is local. Every single piece of this (is) brought in special for this event," said Anderson.

Anderson says the entire set-up also must pass safety inspections. He says the flight deck of the Yorktown does have a weight limit.

"The stands and the court were built to make sure those load limits were respected," said Anderson.

Anderson says the construction inspections were done while the stands were put together.

The state fire marshal did not respond to phone calls or emails for this story.
