COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Colleton County were reopened Tuesday afternoon after a tractor trailer overturned, causing fuel to spill onto the road.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck, which left lanes closed for hours.

Officials said the lanes were reopened just after 12:30 p.m.

The accident was reported just after 5 a.m., Colleton County Fire-Rescue Chief Barry McRoy said.

He said the wreck happened on the bridge at the McLeod Road overpass.

There, the truck left the roadway, struck the guard rail and overturned, he said.
