Hwy 17 SB shut down in Awendaw

AWENDAW, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is handling a three car accident on Highway 17 North in Awendaw that happened around 10:15 a.m.

Deputies say the accident resulted in minor injuries but one patient may be airlifted as a precautionary measure.

Hwy 17 South bound is shut down and is expected to reopen as soon as the scene is cleared. North bound traffic is open.
