CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- It began Oct. 1: A competition between fans of Clemson and the University of South Carolina to register as organ donors.
More than a month into the effort, USC fans are leading the Clemson faithful, organizers said Tuesday.
Organ and Tissue Donation Services for South Carolina has run the Donate Life Duel for the past four years.
In a news release, officials from the agency said Gamecock fans were leading Clemson fans by a margin of 52 percent to 48 percent of those who registered as a donor as part of the duel.
The event will continue through Nov. 23.
