Three face federal indictments in Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Three federal grand jury indictments made public Tuesday have Lowcountry ties.

  • John Tobias, 32, of North Charleston, was indicted on a single charge of theft of government property and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
  • Kay Infinger Day, 48, of Summerville, was charged in a five-count indictment of wire fraud. She could receive up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
  • David Ramirez Ramon, 35, of Mexico, was charged with illegal re-entry of a felon, a charge that carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

The indictments were announced in a news release from the office of U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles.

The grand jury was seated in Charleston.
