CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – AT&T announced Friday the company had turned on its 4G LTE wireless network across the city.
The 4G LTE network let data move at speeds 10 times faster than 3G wireless service, according to AT&T.
"Wireless broadband technology is increasingly essential for consumers and for businesses that want to compete and succeed in a mobile economy," said Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell (R-Charleston). "Investments such as this stimulate economic growth and underscore the importance of public policies which make sense in a competitive and evolving marketplace."
The LTE network was also rolled out in Columbia and Greenville on Friday, the company said.
