Family of 7 displaced by fire

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Red Cross assisted a Walterboro family of 7 Sunday night, including 5 children whose home was damaged by smoke caused by fire.

A Red Cross representative says the fire happened on Carn Street in Walterboro.

The Red Cross provided the family with shelter, funds to purchase food in addition to comfort kits, toys for the children and referral to partner agencies.
