CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County Coroner has released the name of the College of Charleston student killed Sunday as she and a friend were walking across the Crosstown.

Hannah-Rose Elledge, 21, died of blunt force trauma, said the coroner. She was an exchange student from England.

Charleston police say the two girls were walking across the Crosstown on Coming Street around 2:30 a.m. when a Jeep hit them.

The Jeep did have the right-of-way on a green light, and remained on the scene of the accident, according to police.

An incident report from the Charleston Police Department said that when officers arrived on the scene, several items - including shoes and a purse - were "strewn about."

The injured female was taken to MUSC with a broken ankle, police said.
