SCHP investigating deadly crash - WCIV-TV | ABC News 4 - Charleston News, Sports, Weather

HARLEYVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash along Second Bend Road at East Main Street in Harleyville.

Troopers say the crash occurred at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday.

The incident involved an 18-wheeler carrying logs. There's been no word yet what caused the wreck but we do know the driver was killed. He was not wearing his seatbelt.

The coroner has identified the driver as 54 -year-old Richard J. Solvey of Cottageville.

The coroner says Solvey died on the scene from severe head trauma.
