SANGAREE, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday at her Sangaree-area home after nearby residents complained of a "chemical smell."

Sharon L. Haynes, 43, 1827 Eastside St., is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Haynes allowed investigators to search the home, where they found "several items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine."

Drug Enforcement Unit Capt. Mike Williams said investigators were called to the home because residents in the area had complained about a chemical smell.
