Bears lose in Oates final game

Posted: Updated:

Washington Capitals Head Coach Adam Oates and other members of the Caps staff ended their stay in Hershey following the Bears 4-0 loss to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins on Wednesday night.

Oates had been serving as co-coach with Bears Head Coach Mark French during the NHL lockout.  It was an experiment that many Bears fans felt was a mistake.  Oates had been an assistant at the NHL level.  The Caps were hoping that the shared duties would help Oates get to know the minor league players and staff, which was accomplished during his stay in Hershey.

Wednesday night, Hershey gave up two power play goals and one short handed tally and dropped their fifth game in their last six starts.

The Bears will be in Adirondack on Saturday.  Former Bears leading scorer Keith Aucoin returns to Giant Center on Sunday, when Hershey hosts his new team, the Toronto Marlies at 5pm
