Stingrays shutout in Elmira 1-0

Elmira, NY – The South Carolina Stingrays (7-12-0-2) fell to the Elmira Jackals (9-6-1-0) 1-0 at First Arena Friday night.

Elmira forward Andrew Rowe grabbed the only goal of the game on the power play at 6:39 of the second period chipping a shot past the glove of Stingrays goaltender Ryan Zapolski (L, 20 saves on 21 shots) from between the faceoff circles. Defensemen Kyle Bushee and Danny New earned the assists.

Goaltender Marc Cheverie made 31 saves for his second shutout of the season. The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-7 on the power play while the Jackals went 1-for-4.

 The Stingrays wrap up their season series against the Jackals tomorrow, Saturday, November 24 at 7:05 p.m. at First Arena return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday, November 30 against the Royals at 7:05 p.m.
