Charleston, S.C. (WCIV) -- On the day after Thanksgiving, you might not have all of the Christmas lights up and running, but at Celebrate the Season in Moncks Corner a five dollar donation gives you access to all of the lights at the old Santee Canal park.
"The great thing about this event is that all the proceeds go to charity, this is a 100 percent charitable event," says park director, Troy Diel.
It's the second year for the light display. Diel says about 24,000 people and 8,100 cars came last year. Diel says a total of $36,000 was raised for the community.
"We see that there's a need, and that's one of our missions at Santee Cooper, to give back to the community and this is a great way to do it," says Diel.
Diel says the all LED light display is energy efficient and creates an overall brighter look.
The attraction is run entirely by volunteers and will run through December 30th.
Display hours are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday.
Admission is $5 per car, with a maximum of 15 people per car.
