NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Shortly before 3 a.m., officers responded to the Clarion Hotel on Dorchester Road for reports of an armed robbery.
According to police, the hotel clerk said she saw a reflection of a man walking from the back hallway to the front desk area.
She told police that the suspect came up to her, pointed a handgun at her and demanded money.
Police say the clerk gave the robber the contents of the front register and the suspect was also able to remove a safe from the location before fleeing the scene.
That's when police say the clerk locked herself in a room and called them.
The suspect is described as a 20-30 year-old black male, 5'8-5'11 tall with a thin build, wearing a black hoodie jacket with writing on the front - possibly the word South.
If you know anything about this or any other crime you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
