
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston man was caught burglarizing a downtown Charleston apartment early Thursday morning.
According to Charleston police, residents of a St. Philip Street apartment returned to their home to find another man burglarizing it. The residents were able to detain the man until police arrived, officials said.
Nathaniel Cobb, 56, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary. He is being housed in the Al Cannon Detention Center, police said.
According to police, the residents returned home and found their front door had been opened. When they entered the apartment, they found Cobb hiding behind a bathroom door. A fight ensued and the residents of the apartment managed to detain the robber.
Police are still investigating the incident.
