Tyson employee charged with stealing 26K from company

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. (WHTM) -

New Holland police say a Lancaster woman stole nearly $26,000 from Tyson Foods by issuing herself checks fro vacation hours she wasn't entitled to.

Police say Debra Rottmund, 58, issued herself $25,771.07 worth of checks over a four year period. She then deposited those checks into her personal bank account.

Lieutenant Jonathan Heisse said Rottmund admitted to the thefts on Tuesday. She was officially charged Friday with theft by unlawful taking.
