COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Summerville stay-at-home mom is $1 million richer with a losing scratch-off.

According to lottery officials, Jennifer Elrod won the prize by submitted her losing Diamond Millionaire scratch-off tickets to the game's second chance promotion.

One of her $10 tickets was selected to win the $1 million grand prize.

"I cried when I found out," she said.

Her husband Mike restrained his emotions until he held the check for $680,000 after taxes.

"This is wild," he said shaking his head.

Jennifer called Mike at work, at MilliCare, first thing after learning she won. When he answered, he thought something was wrong.

"I'd never heard her voice sound like that," he said.

The Elrods are now planning a trip to Germany to visit family and told lottery officials they also plan to pay off their house.

"I've had my moment," she said. "It feels weird to be called a millionaire."
