CCSO, Firefighters respond to fire, one person dead
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Brevard Road in the Drayton on the Ashley subdivision in Charleston for a residential structure fire and they say one person was found dead.
Around 11:15 Wednesday, deputies met with members of the St. Andrews Fire Department who
responded to the scene and located the deceased inside the residence while
extinguishing the fire.
A spokesperson with the CCSO says the fire is believed
to be accidental and foul play is not suspected.
Investigators with the
Charleston County Sheriff's Office, St Andrews Fire Department and the
Charleston County Coroner's Office continue the investigation, and the Coroner's
Office is working to identify the victim.
