Child, 5, hit by car in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A 5-year-old child had to be airlifted to Medical University Hospital after being hit by a car Wednesday afternoon. 

According to officials at the scene, the child had "an obvious broken leg," but was not sure about other injuries. Officials also did not know if the injuries were life-threatening. 

Officials have not said how the incident happened or if anyone will be charged.
