Roadways reopened near site of downtown Charleston gas leak

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A gas leak was reported Thursday morning by Charleston police in front of the Wells Fargo building at 16 Broad Street.

Police said dispatch received a call about it at 7:44 a.m. According to SCE&G, a car hit a gas lamp on East Bay Street at Broad Street and their crews responded.

The intersections of Broad and East Bay streets, Broad and Atlantic streets and Broad and State streets were closed to traffic for about two hours. Police reopened the area around 9:30 a.m.
