(WCIV) – Two things were consistent along Highway 17 in Mt.
Pleasant during the three months of construction – orange cones and tickets.
The Mt. Pleasant
Police Department on Friday released ticketing information about the last three
months. In September, 164 traffic tickets were handed out in the construction zone.
In October, 149 tickets were handed out. And in November, 145 tickets were
handed out.
The speed limit along Highway 17 in the construction zone
had been reduced to 35 mph while crews worked on repairs and upgrades.
The speed limit was moved back up to 45 mph earlier this
week when the cones were taken off the highway.
