Toys for Tots volunteers make final push

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Toys for Tots Volunteers continue to put in long hours sorting toys that will be sent to families and help organizations in the region.

Connie Frye has been volunteering since 2006. She says the smile on the faces of children make the hard work and long hours worth it. Last year, the effort provided toys for more 36,000 kids.

Marine Sergeant Charissa Eaton, who served in Afghanistan, says she knew Toys for Tots was going to be a serious commitment, but she didn't expect it to be so involved.  Eaton says providing toys for young people is not work, it's a privilege.

Toys will be collected on Saturday at the Capital City Mall from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
