Police: Citizen tips lead police to drugs, cash and handgun

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Charleston man was arrested Saturday on narcotic and weapon charges after police received tips that led to a search warrant.

The warrant was executed by the CPD Special Investigations Unit.

Police reported the confiscation of 5.2 pounds of marijuana, 13.5 grams of hashish, 20 adderal pills, 75 alprazolam pills, a handgun and $1,500 in cash.

James Mercado Enriquez, 40, of Ashley Crossing Drive is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of hashish with the intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said they got the search warrant because of information provided by "concerned citizens."
