Police looking for witnesses of apparent hit and run

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - Summerville Police need witnesses of an apparent hit and run that occurred on Saturday around 5:50 p.m.

Police say witnesses describe the victim stumbling onto Central Avenue, near the Parsons Road Intersection, and collapsing.

The victim was transported to MUSC by helicopter where it was determined by her injures that she had been hit by a car.

There were no witness that saw the victim get hit by any vehicle, but police believe she was hit while on the side of the road walking against traffic.

If anyone saw the collision, or even saw if there was someone or something lying on the shoulder of the roadway, they can contact either Sgt. Allison or Lt. Burris at 843-851-4100.
