CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – Police are looking for a North Charleston man after a stolen City of Charleston GPS unit surfaced at a downtown Charleston pawn shop.

According to police, the TomTom GPS device was stolen last week from a parking enforcement officer's car and pawned at the Money Man pawn shop on Meeting Street.

Management at the store showed officers the pawn slip, showing the offender's name – Demetrius Wells. The slip showed that Wells received $20 for the stolen GPS unit.

Police obtained two warrants for Wells' arrest, one for receiving stolen goods and another for larceny by false pretense. Police said Wells is known to spend time in downtown Charleston and on Dorchester Road in North Charleston.

Anyone with information about Wells' location can call CrimeStoppers at 554-1111 or Charleston police at 577-7434.
