CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Families Helping Families Wrap-a-Thon has begun as people wrap gifts for their adopted families.
It's not just families who adopt, either. Employees at several Lowcountry businesses have teamed up to adopt families. Several people at Benefitfocus are sponsoring four needy families.
"Each of the four families has five members of those families ranging in age from 1 to 35 years old, so for each family we did gifts for each member of the family. Then we did the basic necessities -- laundry detergent, toothpaste, grocery store gift cards, and some things we thought might help during the holiday season," said Bonner Jordan.
If you sponsored a family, you have until Saturday to get your gifts wrapped and delivered to the warehouse in West Ashley.
There will also be a benefit concert this weekend on Bowens Island for Families Helping Families. The Jazz Jam starts at 4 p.m. Sunday.
