MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- A group of Wando High School students adopted a family over the holidays.
The students from Wando's Spanish Club teamed up on Wednesday to wrap all of the gifts they have collected. It's part of the East Cooper Community Outreach Adopt a Family program.
"It's really cool. For being just in Spanish Club, it's really cool because I got to see everyone that took Spanish. And, it's really cool because even in Mt. Pleasant there are people in the Hispanic community still out there even though we are not in a South American country. And, I just really appreciate the opportunity to help another family. It makes me feel really good inside," said student Annalise Bowen.
This is the fourth year the Wando Spanish Club has sponsored a family at Christmastime.
